6 Celebrities Who Have Battled Lymphoma
Lymphoma is a rare type of cancer which affects the lymphatic system. It can strike at any age and has no gender preference. As with all diseases, celebrities are not immune, so we’ve put together a list of six celebrities who have battled lymphoma.
1. Gene Wilder
Actor and comedian Gene Wilder is best-known for roles in films such as Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Young Frankenstein. Wilder was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma in 1999 and following chemotherapy and stem cell treatment went into remission in 2005. Sadly, Wilder passed away earlier this year following complications with Alzheimer’s disease.

2. Michael C. Hall
Dexter actor Michael C. Hall announced in January 2010 that he had been secretly undergoing treatment for Hodgkins lymphoma and was in remission. The actor then became a spokesman for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, sharing his experience and helping to raise awareness of the disease.

3. Mr. T’s Story with T-Cell Lymphoma
Eighties TV star Mr. T is famous the world over for his role as B.A. Baracus, as well as for being a famous wrestler. However, he saved his biggest fight for the one against T-cell lymphoma in 1995. Although he beat the lymphoma that time around, the cancer returned a year later. After a long battle with the disease, Mr. T finally went into remission after years of treatment.
