Wandsworth Common Care Home Named Digital Leader by NHS South West London – Digital Health Technology News

Wandsworth Common Care Home, owned by Avery Healthcare, has received the prestigious Star Digital Performer certificate from NHS South West London.

The award recognises the home as one of the top 5% of care homes in the region for digital innovation.

Wandsworth Common Care Home is one of only 20 homes across South West London, and just four in Wandsworth, to receive this distinction.

This achievement highlights the home’s success in integrating advanced digital technologies to enhance care and communication.

These include remote monitoring for vital signs, digitised care plans via Personal Centred Software (PCS), real-time updates through the Universal Care Plan portal, and access to the London Care Record for improved coordination with hospitals.

By adopting multiple digital projects from the South West London Integrated Care Board (ICB), the home has strengthened collaboration with healthcare professionals.

Secure sharing of vital resident information ensures safety, improves efficiency, and streamlines coordination across all levels of care.

Thomas Holden, Home Manager at Wandsworth Common Care Home, said, “This award highlights our ongoing efforts to embrace digital solutions that enhance care quality.”

“By integrating these systems, we ensure better communication and collaboration with healthcare professionals, ultimately benefiting our residents. I’m incredibly proud of our team for their dedication to innovation in care.”

The NHS South West London Care Homes Digital Integration Team visited the home to present the award in person, celebrating their outstanding commitment to advancing technology in care.

“The staff have worked so hard and have really embraced the new learning that came with implementing digital solutions, raising the home’s digital score to 95%. It was delightful to be able to present them with the award, it was very much deserved. Well done, Team,” said Kate Scotter, Senior Health and Social Care Integration Officer – Merton, Wandsworth & Sutton Care Homes Digital Integration Team, NHS South West London Integrated Care System.
