IIHMR to open AMTZ satellite centre in Visakhapatnam

IIHMR Delhi and AMTZ have signed an MoU to open a satellite centre at Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone in Visakhapatnam, offering training and applied research.

An MoU is a formal collaboration agreement between organisations.

Under the partnership, IIHMR Delhi will set up a satellite centre on the AMTZ campus to deliver executive education programmes, industry-aligned skill courses and joint academic-industry initiatives. IIHMR’s strengths in health systems management, public health policy and health economics will pair with AMTZ’s advanced manufacturing testing, calibration and innovation infrastructure.

The collaboration is intended to widen career options through specialised, certified management courses for the healthcare sector, helping address demand for trained professionals in India.

Key workstreams include co-created curricula and skilling in medical device supply chains, regulatory affairs, quality systems and technology commercialisation. Faculty-led applied research will examine device adoption, procurement frameworks, quality assurance and regulatory impact, generating evidence to support domestic manufacturing scale-up and policy decisions.
