MyWay Digital Health secures £3m to scale NHS diabetes tool

MyWay Digital Health has secured £3m in funding to scale its diabetes management platform, which is used across several NHS regions.

The Edinburgh-based company, spun out of the University of Dundee in 2017, employs 30 staff across Dundee, Edinburgh and London.

It develops data-driven technology to support the management of long-term conditions, with a particular focus on diabetes and reducing the burden of chronic disease.

Its flagship platform, MyWay Diabetes, is a clinically validated digital self-management tool that integrates with NHS systems to provide personalised education, data visualisation and actionable insights for patients and clinicians.

Debbie Wake, chief executive officer and co-founder of MyWay Digital Health, said: “We are delighted to have secured investment from Foresight, marking a significant milestone in MWDH’s journey.

“Their support will enable us to accelerate our growth strategy, broaden our product offering, and further expand our global footprint.”

The platform has been adopted across multiple NHS regions and internationally, demonstrating measurable improvements in patient engagement and health outcomes.

The company’s product suite spans diabetes prevention, cardiovascular health, hypertension and weight management.

The investment will support the development of new AI-enabled products, including predictive analytics and personalised care pathways, while also supporting global commercial expansion.

The round was led by Foresight Group, a regional private equity and infrastructure investment manager.

As part of the deal, Dr Umang Patel will join MyWay Digital Health as non-executive chair.

Dr Patel currently serves as chief clinical information officer for Microsoft in the EMEA region and will work with the management team to support domestic and international expansion.

Daniel Halliday, managing director at Foresight Group, said: “The adoption of digital tools and AI to reduce the burden on frontline care is critical. MWDH is at the forefront of this and its best in class technology is proven to deliver better health outcomes and cost savings for its customers.

“Foresight is excited to support the team on their next phase of growth.”
