Just two weeks left to nominate game-changing health tech innovations

Health tech companies have two weeks left to submit nominations for the Most Improved Patient Outcomes award at the forth-annual Health Tech World Awards.

The award, sponsored by the NIHR HealthTech Research Centre in Accelerated Surgical Care, recognises the health technology solution judged to have made the most significant, measurable impact on improving patient outcomes.

It honours innovations that have demonstrably enhanced patient health, safety, experience or quality of life through the effective use of technology.

Unlike categories built around innovation or leadership, the Most Improved Patient Outcomes award is explicitly outcomes-driven.

Entrants are expected to demonstrate measurable results, such as reduced complications, faster recovery times, improved diagnostic accuracy, shorter wait times or better patient-reported experience, rather than simply describe a novel concept or technology.

The category sits alongside seven others in this year’s awards, including AI Innovation, Digital Health Innovation, Startup of the Year and Health Tech Company of the Year, each backed by a different industry sponsor.

About the sponsor

The Most Improved Patient Outcomes award is sponsored by the NIHR HealthTech Research Centre in Accelerated Surgical Care, part of a national network of NIHR HealthTech Research Centres based in leading NHS organisations across England.

These centres work with medical device, diagnostic and digital health technology companies to develop, evaluate and validate new medical technologies, including generating the real-world evidence and health economics data needed to demonstrate financial and operational value within the NHS.

The Accelerated Surgical Care centre specifically focuses on driving innovation that enables quicker diagnosis and treatment of surgical conditions, alongside safe, early recovery in the community.

Who can enter

The category is open to companies of all sizes, from early-stage startups to established medtech firms and NHS-partnered digital health providers, provided they can point to a measurable improvement in patient outcomes linked to their technology.

Key dates

Nominations close on August 14, 2026. Shortlisting and judging will take place between August 17 and September 28, with winners announced on October 5 during an online video presentation.
