Assured Raises US$19M Series A

Assured has raised US$19m in Series A funding to expand its provider platform and automate more healthcare administration.

The New York-based company automates clinician credentialing and payer enrolment and works with more than 100 healthcare organisations, including hospital systems, digital health providers and physician groups.

Assured claims its software helps clinicians join insurer networks around 30 per cent faster than conventional processes.

The funding will support the wider automation of healthcare back-office workflows.

Assured’s platform handles tasks traditionally carried out by credentialing specialists.

It checks clinicians’ credentials against more than 2,000 primary information sources, prepares applications that comply with state licensing rules and payer requirements and identifies missing documents before they delay submissions.

Varun Krishnamurthy, co-founder and chief executive of Assured, said: “We’ve seen what changes when AI agents handle credentialing and payer enrolment.

“Providers onboard faster, organisations scale faster, and care gets delivered sooner.”

Assured also operates as a National Committee for Quality Assurance-certified Credentials Verification Organization.

This allows healthcare organisations with delegated credentialing agreements to outsource verification while continuing to comply with payer standards.

Krishnamurthy said: “That’s the entry point, not the endpoint. We’re taking the same approach to the broader provider back office, where teams define workflows in plain language, and our agents execute them end-to-end. This funding lets us accelerate that.”

Krishnamurthy, a New York-based software engineer and entrepreneur, founded Assured with company president Rahul Shivkumar after encountering lengthy administrative delays while building an earlier healthcare venture.

Before launching Assured, Krishnamurthy co-founded virtual sleep and behavioural health provider Dawn Health, which was acquired by Health Care Originals in 2023.

New York-based Insight Partners led the Series A round, with continued participation from First Round Capital and San Francisco-based Kindred Ventures.

Insight Partners is a growth equity and venture capital firm focused on software, technology and internet companies.

The firm manages more than US$90bn in regulatory assets and has invested in more than 900 companies worldwide. It also has offices in London, Tel Aviv and San Francisco.

Teddie Wardi, managing director at Insight Partners, said: “Across healthcare, provider credentialing and enrolment remain some of the most painful and expensive parts of scaling.

“The tools built for this category function as systems of record that leave the actual work to people. Assured is the first platform we have seen that performs the work itself.”
