Oxipit appoints Peter Corscadden to lead global expansion

AI radiology solutions provider Oxipit has appointed senior health tech executive, Peter Corscadden, as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to strengthen its global footprint.

Gediminas Pekšys, the outgoing CEO, will transition to a crucial role as the Head of AI within the company.

Corscadden has over twenty years of experience in commercial management roles within the healthcare IT industry, from global bluechips to innovative start-ups.

Prior to joining Oxipit in July 2023, he provided commercial support for a range of healthcare IT organisations.

Corscadden said: “I’m thrilled at the opportunity to lead the jewel in the crown of radiology AI that is Oxipit; a team that had the vision to develop solutions that directly address the global radiologist shortage in a meaningful way.

ChestLink remains the only fully automated reporting solution that is CE and TGA certified and when coupled with ChestEye for triaging, and Quality to prevent missed findings; that’s a very powerful suite to support radiologists in providing an efficient and equitable service.

“I’m privileged to join a team which is delivering this desperately needed solution to the world.”

As the first CE class IIB certified provider for fully autonomous reporting of normal chest x-rays, Corscadden’s appointment comes at a crucial time as the industry grapples with an over-burdened radiologist workforce.

The company aims to show that autonomous reporting of healthy normal radiographs is key to resolving the global workforce crisis.

So far, Oxipit has undertaken deployments in several EU countries, as well as the USA, Brazil, Australia, and most recently in the UK with University Hospitals Birmingham to run a large-scale evaluation of automated chest x-ray reporting.

Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer, Gediminas Pekšys, said: “This is a particularly exciting time for Oxipit as we continue to expand our services to healthcare providers in the UK and beyond.

“Peter’s extensive experience and knowledge position us well to meet our commercial needs as I focus my attention on our AI capabilities.

Oxipit’s solutions showcase the future of healthcare diagnostics, where AI operates as an integral part of the clinical workflow by reducing workload and improving accuracy.

“With Peter on board, Oxipit is poised to make a lasting impact on the radiology landscape, offering us the opportunity to build long lasting, strategic partnerships.”
