With national unemployment rising as the UK struggles against economic downturn, staffing demands remain high across the social care sector as the NHS tackles unprecedented pressure. Britain’s ageing population requires more complex care from a sector that has almost twice the vacancy rates as the national average, at nearly 11%.

At a time when over 13,000 hospital beds are occupied by patients fit to be discharged into social care, and new data shows that 54,000 patients are waiting for over 12 hours to be seen in A&E, there is no doubt that carers are needed more than ever.

Leading home healthcare provider Cera is today announcing that it is creating 10,000 new jobs in 2023 across the UK, to simultaneously bolster the care sector and put thousands of people back to work during the economic crisis.

The majority of these new roles will be in frontline healthcare services such as professional carers and nurses to accelerate and facilitate its growth.
