The Health Foundation launches Tech for Better Care funding scheme – htn

The Health Foundation has launched a new funding programme, Tech for Better Care, to support the use of technology to enable care at home and in the community.

£2 million is being made available over 18 months, to support six teams to develop, test and pilot innovations.

The aim is to help “get promising new ideas off the ground that have the potential to be adopted by others in the future,” and to support ideas and projects that also can demonstrate “relational and proactive care by making the most of technology”.

During the programme, teams will be provided with support across three phases; to explore opportunities and develop ideas, test and refine those ideas, before going to pilot an idea as phase three.

The Health Foundation noted that applications must be led by an organisation responsible for delivering care at home, in a residential setting or in the community. They add: “We are inviting care providers to apply for funding of up to £30,000 to participate in phase one of the programme, and then the most promising ideas will progress to phase two and phase three.”

An information webinar is being held at 3:00pm 31 May 2023 to answer any questions about the programme.

The application process is now open and will close at 5:00pm 29 June 2023.
