Egress appoints new CEO to deliver end-to-end data services following Stalis acquisition

Egress Group, the trusted data partner for public sector organisations and private sector businesses, has appointed industry leader Kieran Hughes as CEO.

Earlier this year Egress acquired Stalis, a specialist provider of data services to the NHS, and in 2021 the business attracted investment from private equity firm FPE.

Hughes, who joined in September, will lead the integration of Egress and Stalis and drive the delivery of end-to-end data services to NHS trusts, integrated care systems (ICSs) and national agencies.

Hughes has over a decade of experience leading international teams to support large-scale digital and data integration projects in the public and private sectors. He was most recently President of Europe and Middle East for Nordic Consulting.

On his appointment, Kieran Hughes, said: “If we are to ensure trusts and ICSs can meet the needs of patients and pivot to more preventative healthcare, we have to give them the means to get real-time access to good quality data in the right context.

“Likewise, to deliver the national ambitions for population health management and more effective care coordination, the flow and analysis of data need addressing.

“The Group has built a significant reputation and footprint in healthcare that spans four decades.

“We are uniquely positioned to now provide the NHS with a single data partner that surfaces information for clinical, operational, financial and research purposes.

“I’m delighted to join the company at this critical inflection point for the NHS.”

Llewellyn John, Partner at FPE commented: “We’re delighted to welcome Kieran to the team.

“We’re excited by the potential that Egress/Stalis have to help the NHS make better use of the information they hold locally and bring together data across regions to deliver better outcomes for all.”

Egress Group has 40 years of experience delivering strategic reviews and readiness assessments, architecture, migration, integration, archiving, and population health management.

Customers include Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust and Health and Social Care Northern Ireland (Encompass Programme).
