Best Practice integrates genAI

Practice management system brand Best Practice Software is set to introduce a new transcription tool run by generative AI. 

The company recently partnered with Lyrebird Health to integrate the Lyrebird Scribe into its software offering. The tool automatically generates medical documentation such as patient notes during the consultation process, filters out irrelevant information, and prepares comprehensive letters and referrals “within minutes.”

According to a media release, Lyrebird Scribe uses AES-256-bit encryption to store de-identified information on Australian-based servers. 


GenAI capability coming to Telstra Health’s latest connected care suite

Telstra Health has recently unveiled its latest range of digital connected care solutions, Smart Connected Care.

It compromises three cloud-based platforms, each featuring web-based applications: 

  • Smart Clinician, which incorporates workflow and clinical education tools, including Smart Telehealth for providing virtual consultations; Clinical Support for targeted education; and Smart Seek for identifying eligible patients for clinical trials, research studies, and health programs. Coming soon to Smart Clinician includes Smart Scripts for assisting medication management; Smart Connect for sending referrals and electronic orders; Smart Scribe for generating medical documentation using genAI; and Smart Care for creating, tracking, and soon, sharing and updating, care plans. 

  • Smart Manager, which offers a range of health management tools and resources, including the cybersecurity solution Smart Shield.

  • interoperability platform, Smart Marketplace, which utilises FHIR standards.


AIRS Medical forays into ANZ

South Korean medical AI developer AIRS Medical has recently entered into a strategic partnership with Australian medical equipment supplier ParagonCare, cementing its presence in the region down under.

ParagonCare, which intends to focus on AI this year, will be carrying AIRS Medical’s SwiftMR, an AI-powered solution for enhancing MRI image quality. The technology is currently being sold in over 15 countries.
