Geoff Cook appointed Noom CEO

Digital health platform Noom has announced that Geoff Cook has been appointed CEO and will join the Noom Board of Directors.

As part of a planned leadership transition, Noom’s co-Founder Saeju Jeong, who served as CEO for 16 years, will continue with the company as Executive Chairman of the Board.

Cook has extensive strategic and executive experience.

During his tenure as co-founder and CEO of The Meet Group, Cook took the company public on the NASDAQ exchange and led it until its sale in September 2020.

Cook presided over eight consecutive years of revenue growth, while also acquiring and successfully integrating four social dating companies and building a significant enterprise creator economy platform.

Cook said:

“Having spent the last 18 years driving innovation to promote social connection and well-being, I’m thrilled to bring that spirit of transformative innovation to additional health and wellness dimensions.

“I believe Noom can build on its strong and compelling foundation to reach everyone everywhere on their wellness journey and deepen the sustained, positive impact we have on the lives of our customers.

“I’m looking forward to partnering with Noom’s co-founders, Board, and talented team to create the next chapter of Noom’s growth.”

Noom is a digital health platform that aims to help its users to achieve holistic health outcomes through behaviour change and the latest in modern medicine.

Founded in 2008, Noom is backed by more than a decade of user research and product development.

Noom recently launched its healthcare programme, Noom Med, which provides obesity care powered by biology, psychology, and technology to those who medically qualify.

Noom co-Founder and Executive Chairman Saeju Jeong said:

“I’m so pleased to have Geoff Cook join us as CEO. Geoff is a transformative leader who will lead Noom through the next phase of our evolution.

“With his lengthy track record building and scaling businesses and revenue streams, I know Geoff is ideally positioned to accelerate Noom’s growth and profitability.

“His strengths in building large communities, growing brands and what they offer, integrating teams, driving a large creator economy business, expanding into enterprise, and innovating in multiple areas give me every confidence that he will find success in bringing Noom to the next level.”
